Story

Somewhere between being woken up by mom at the break of dawn much to her frustration as a kid to now having the freedom to wake up at her own pace, she had grown up and adulthood had established its firm tentacles into her living space. She knew she was happy, but she never felt quite at home. Until one day, she accidentally woke up early in the morning and was reminded of that feeling that only pristine mornings can bring. There is undoubtedly a lot of ‘home’ in what we learn from our parents, isn’t it?

As the birds chirped away to glory, she discovered that part of her that she had missed even without knowing what she was missing. And, she hugged herself back to the calm in her heart!

Description

This is a handloom cotton saree.
Handloom cotton is woven using hand operated looms. Two sets of interlacing yarns, the warp (length) and weft (width), are woven on a mechanised loom operated by weavers. Human handling lends the fabrics a unique feel and renders the fabrics more value, making it extremely comfortable to wear. Handloom cotton is more breathable and thus feels lighter in summers and is perfect for layering in winters.
The art of hand weaving is labour intensive and takes a relatively longer time. But, the beauty it adds to the fabric is priceless. Choosing handloom cotton supports the rich weaving heritage of India and lets the weavers carry on the precious art-form to the future generations as well.
